The very first Alice in Wonderland movie, directed by Cecil Hepworth
and Percy Stow was a silent film made in 1903. Running about 12
minutes, it was the longest film yet produced in Britain. Since most
film production screened at the time were shorts this film was often
sold scene by scene, as it was considered not suitable for its length.
Here's the recently restored version.

  1. Wow - it's really interesting. The music is so cute (& also kind of spooky). I love how the film flickers. And the way she fades out of the rabbit's house. This version is even crazier than Tim Burton's. The cat! It's really interesting how they went about creating each section of the story.
